After following your blog this semester, I really liked how you used so many real life situations/events to connect with your students in each unit. I also liked how you were able to "marry" subject areas together with your own subject area.
What I found most interesting with your experiences throughout the semester is the amount of emphasis you put on approaching the lesson by making connections to the students’ personal lives. As I teach and have completed my own lesson plans for class, I have always found it easier to get the student to find the information interesting as long you make it personal. Second, I found you belief in standardized testing, on I can relate to. I think that to some degree, they are necessary, but not to the drastic ends the school systems have gone to hold students back based on their performance on standardized tests. Good Luck as you move trough the program!
